Glad to see you had some good moments with your dad. I feel sad that your mother was under WT brainwashing and she treated you rather poorly due to this cult. Telling your story to others has it's healing benefits one being it causes me to think about my parents and grandparent and appreciate the perils our forefathers faced in trying to make it in this world and how these cults pray on ignorance.

by Brokeback Watchtower inby the word enthnocentric i mean everyone in the watchtower culture or milieu,, since they are a part of a worldwide organization ethonicity .

As far stages of human development that is only 2 rungs up the ladder 1)ego 2)entho. They have very little growth spirituality and actually are at the bottom of the heap. Jesus cannot be their rule model since they interpret accounts of him in a very egoistic way(giving them authority as his chosen Faithful and Discreet Slave). Also they are very restrictive in who they view as Jesus brother's(144,000) limiting such to only those that have the same interpretation as them which make them extremely ethnocentric.
They are definitely on the 3rd rung which is world centric, unless you view a egocentric view of the world as worldcentric.

Atheists - How Did You Become An Atheist After Waking Up?
by pale.emperor ini consider myself an atheist.
and right now i'm reading a lot on atheism in general (books written to answer creationists).. i'd be interested in knowing how you became an atheist after leaving the jws and how long did it take?
was it instant or did your belief in a deity gradually decline?.

I still believed the bible was god's word when I first left, it took about another 3 years till I gave up on the biblical deity.
Now I'm thinking all god's are just a projection of the human mind. There is some psychological truths we can get from the study of these psychological projections but it is a mistake to take any stories literally.
I'm open to the idea that we all may be in a computer simulation or in the Mind of God and that everything that exists is the mind of god therefore I'm god, this chair I'm siting in is god, Jimmy Hendriks is god, the whole universe is god.

Jonah Complex:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jonah_complex
The Jonah complex is the fear of success which prevents self-actualization, or the realization of one's potential.[1][2] It is the fear of one's own greatness, the evasion of one's destiny, or the avoidance of exercising one's talents.[1][3] As the fear of achieving a personal worst may serve to motivate personal growth, likewise the fear of achieving a personal best may hinder achievement.[1]

I think Ayahuasca has a very very low level of abuse it is definitely not a party time drug. It's for facing your demons(shadow), and no pleasure cruise.

That's what they said about LSD, peyote, and marijuana in the sixties. Later they said cocaine wasn't dangerous. I'm a recovering alcoholic/addict. I work in a 28 day rehab facility. I think you're doing drugs.
If you paint with a big wide brush and everything is just black and white then yes I'm doing drugs. Yes they said good things about lsd, thc, mescaline in the 60's that was my generation, and they are still saying good things about them only with more scientific data to back it up. The psychologist were using it in the 60s to cure addictions, and mind exploration, and mind expander but were latter banned from doing anymore research by the US government back in 1964 and they outlawed them at that time too, and not for any good reason but mainly because it caused people to question governmental authority. It didn't fit in with government's goals of a massively indoctrinated obedient general population(public mandatory free education/indoctrination with daily pledges of allegiance ) who obey without questioning governmental authority. We Americans were burning our draft cards over the refusing to become part of the US military machine, and not behaving like mindless drones no doubt because a lot of us were taking these substances and this worried the government.
Thankfully the governments around the world are allowing these compounds to be explored once again after a 40 year ban because the benefits can no longer be denied by government bureaucracy.
When psychology professor from Harvard Timothy Leary said for people to "tune in, turn on, and drop out", the US government labeled him as a very dangerous man and latter had him in prison for possession of one half of a marijuana cigarette while crossing the border of mexico and us. No doubt his statement lead to these substances coming under ban. It scared the shit out of government.

He lobotomized himself. Gerrit L. sounds like he may have been Lobotomized. He seems quite a bit emotionally blunted, which make it easy for him to give this ridiculous talk and latter claim that he is not affiliated with the WT corporation or its policies in a signed affidavit to the courts that served him a subpoena. He definitely don't seem very self aware and super restricted in his intellectual range. Or perhaps his complete idiocy is due to severe brain shrinkage which comes from the job he's got as being a religious fundamentalist cult leader and he never had a lobotomy it's just his brain shrunk so god dam much.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lobotomy
Lobotomy is a neurosurgical procedure and form of psychosurgery. It consists of cutting or scraping away most of the connections to and from the prefrontal cortex, the anterior part of the frontal lobes of the brain. It was used for psychiatric and occasionally other conditions as a mainstream procedure in some Western countries for more than two decades. This was despite general recognition of frequent and serious side effects. While some people experienced symptomatic improvement with the operation, the improvements were achieved at the cost of creating other impairments. The procedure was controversial from its initial use in part due to the balance between benefits and risks.
The purpose of the operation was to reduce the symptoms of mental disorder, and it was recognized that this was accomplished at the expense of a person's personality and intellect. British psychiatrist Maurice Partridge, who conducted a follow-up study of 300 patients, said that the treatment achieved its effects by "reducing the complexity of psychic life". Following the operation, spontaneity, responsiveness, self-awareness and self-control were reduced. Activity was replaced by inertia, and people were left emotionally blunted and restricted in their intellectual range
